African Journal of Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems (AJSAFS)


is an open-access, peer-reviewed, international multidisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and knowledge dissemination in sustainable agriculture and food systems across Africa and beyond.


Launched to address the continent's unique agricultural challenges and opportunities, AJSAFS provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore integrated approaches that enhance food security, environmental resilience, economic viability, and social equity. The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, and applied contributions across (but not limited to) the following areas:



  • Sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices

  • Food security and nutrition policy

  • Agricultural value chains and market systems

  • Soil, water, and natural resource management

  • Agricultural technology and innovation

  • Rural livelihoods and smallholder farming systems


AJSAFS publishes original research articles, review articles, case studies, and short communications. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
